Sarah Shannon, LMFT
As a therapist I am collaborative with my clients. Therapy sessions are often very conversational. I trust that you know what you need and together we can talk about ways to help you achieve your goals both with practical ideas and through introspection. I believe therapy works best and is most successful when there is a willingness to risk being vulnerable with a safe other. If you are someone who is motivated to learn more about yourself and take active steps to change, this might be the right fit for you. My focus area and experience is working with women, and both premarital and established couples. The clients who will benefit best from the way I do therapy are those who are naturally self-reflective and find value in metaphor and symbolic language.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Tennessee. I graduated with my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and have been seeing clients in a variety of settings for the past nine years.
